Abstract (en)

Analyzes Gino Chierici's reconstruction (1920s) of the Medieval church of S. Maria Incoronata, Naples, as an example of destructive restoration. The church had been much altered in the 17th-18th cs., and Chierici's goal was to return the building to its original form.
