On California stage coach entrepreneur James E. Birch and the silver made for him by the firm of John Chandler Moore and Edward C. Moore, acting for Tiffany and Company, 1854-1855. Twenty-six pieces of the Birch silver are on permanent display at the Hearst Mining Building of the University of California at Berkeley.
