Abstract (en)

Explores the role of classical mythology and form in the art of Salvador Dalí. Analyses Metamorphosis of Narcissus which combines painting and poem, in context of the artist's interrogation of painterly and literary traditions about Narcissus, and examines the significance of Freudian psychoanalysis for Dalí as an interpretative mediator between modernity and its key antique myths.
