Reviews the exhibition Hitchcock and art: fatal coincidences (Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, 16 Nov 2000-18 Mar 2001; and Paris, Centre Pompidou, 7 June-13 Sept 2001). Discusses how the exhibition examines the relationship between the style and iconography of the films of Alfred Hitchcock and modern art from the late 19th and early 20th cs. Focuses on the comparison of film (also using storyboards) and painting, the influences of Surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali, and the imagery of women.
