Examines responses of the Surrealists to the case of Violette Nozières, a French teenager who in 1933 murdered her father and attempted to murder her mother. Discusses their book of art and poetry devoted to the Nozières case that included drawings by Jean Arp, Rene Magritte, Victor Brauner, and Salvador Dali, a cover photo by Man Ray, and poetry by André Breton. Looks at images about the case that appeared in the weekly tabloid Détective.
