Abstract (en)

On the competition between the Société des Artistes Français and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Paris, in the 1890s. Discusses their exhibitions held at the Palais de l'Industrie (Champs-Elysées) and the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Champ-de-Mars) respectively, and focuses on the schemes of interior decoration employed by the two associations and their effect on the success of the exhibitions.
