Discusses the inscription on capital 50 in the north gallery of the cloister (completed 1100) of the abbey of S. Pierre, Moissac, and related decorative motifs in the wooden architecture of Spain (Andalusia and Catalonia) and France (especially Le Puy and other sites in the Auvergne). Links the techniques of relief sculpture in these regions to the development and diffusion of the corbeled roof.
