On acquisitions made for the Danish king in the Netherlands, 1607-1608, and the commissions from Jacob van Doordt and Pieter Isaacsz. Discusses the decoration of several of the royal residences, including Kronborg Slot, Helsingør, by Gerrit van Honthorst and the Utrecht School. Treats also the portrait painters Karl van Mander III and Abraham Wuchters, 1630s-1640s.
