Abstract (en)

Discusses affinities between Ruskin's and Ezra Pound's interpretations of Venetian history in the Stones of Venice and Cantos respectively. Remarks that both described a slow collapse in social, political and moral terms from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, and argues that they perceived a parallel decline in Venetian art and architecture.
