Identifies the subject of a silver-stained glass roundel, Northern Netherlandish, ca.1520 (Cloisters, Metropolitan Museum, New York) as Sorgheloos and Lichte Fortuna; notes that the iconography of story of the profligate Sorgheloos, depicted in six woodcuts by Cornelis Anthonisz., is frequently mistaken for that of the Prodigal Son; and presents numerous representations of the subject in Northern and Southern Netherlandish painting and stained glass.
