Considers a Greek epitaph, dated here 901-925 or slightly later, found on a marble sarcophagus at Erenköy (now courtyard of the Ayasofya Müzesi, Istanbul). Discusses literary sources for the inscription, and possible clues contained in it to the location of the monastery founded by Nikolaos Mystikos (Patriarch Nicholas I of Constantinople) at ancient Galakrenai.
