Abstract
(en)
Associates several series of tapestries, including the Scenes from the Jewish War of Titus and Vespasian after Peter de Kempener (Museo Arazzi Fiamminghi, Marsala), with the Brussels atelier known by the monogram C.T., and proposes that the tapestry maker was Cornelis Tons. Disputes Nicole Dacos's hypothesis that the Marsala tapestries were commissioned by Philip II to symbolize events in the revolt of the Netherlands, suggesting instead that the series was probably a commercial product, purchased by the donor Antonio Lombardo.
