Abstract (en)

Discusses the architectural history of the Cistercian monastery church of SS. Maria and Martin, Walkenried, Niedersachsen, restored, 1978-1983, with additional excavations in 1986-1987. The church, with Romanesque (Walkenried I) and Gothic (Walkenried II) elements, was consecrated in 1137 and rebuilt in the 13th and 14th cs.
