On the recovery and reassessment of Russian modernist painting, both in the Soviet Union and the West; notes that the major source is the storeroom of the Russian Museum in Leningrad, where exhibitions of Pavel Filonov, Malevich, and art of the 1920s and 30s have recently been held.
