Abstract (en)
Defines three stages of Medieval buildings design: 1) early--based on functional, two-dimensional and repeated modules, 2) high--evolved from structurally integrated ad quadratum and ad triangulum designs with spatial dynamics governed by logically connected elements, and 3) late--where sophisticated graphic games and ornaments became the structure itself and transformed interiors into visually dynamic architecture in motion.
