Abstract (en)

Re-examines the property documents of the Carducci family in the hope of clarifying the problem of patronage of Andrea's frescoes of Famous men and women (Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence), originally in the Villa Carducci (now Fornacione), Legnaia. Concludes that it is not yet possible to determine whether the patron was Filippo di Giovanni, Niccolò di Giovanni or Andrea di Niccolò Carducci. Includes a genealogy of the Carducci family and a reconstruction of the property lines.
