Surveys structural evidence for the building history of Lichfield cathedral: unusual Norman and Transitional quires, pre-Reformation relic-cult associations in the S. Chad's Head and S. Peter's Chapel complex, a rare medieval library pavement, and important evidence for studying 17th c. fabric and the mechanics of cathedral restoration following extensive destruction and rebuilding in the 17th c. and successive waves of restoration in the 18th and 19th cs.
