Commentary followed by transcription and English translation of an unpublished manuscript, Bedenken, wie eine Kunst-Cammer aufzurichten seyn möchte (Staatsarchiv, Dresden). Relying heavily on Vasari, the author describes the ideal representative art collection and seeks to secure the post of artistic adviser to the Elector Christian I at Dresden, while defining a moral and didactic place for art within Lutheran dogma.
