Abstract (en)

Argues that one significant factor in producing the overall program for Michelangelo's ceiling may have been Joachim of Fiore's Liber Concordiae (ca.1182-1184). Suggests the text and its illustrations may have been brought to the attention of Julius II by Egidio da Viterbo.
