Abstract (en)

Argues that the altarpiece, Virgin and Child with SS. John the Baptist, Martin of Tours and Catherine of Alexandria (Florence, Church of Santo Spirito), commemorates Tanai de' Nerli's mission, as a Florentine ambassador, to Charles VIII in 1494. The traditional date has been the late 1480s.
