Discusses photographs of the Renkioi Hospital (Turkey), its personnel and environs, taken by two Edinburgh physicians who served at the hospital during the Crimean War. Notes that the photographs are especially valuable as visual documentation of the new hospital, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
