Describes an embroidered silk coverlet which carries the name Dorothea Augusta, Herzogin von Schleswig-Holstein, the maiden name of the wife of Georg III, Landgraf von Hessen-Darmstadt (married 1661). Suggests the piece may have been made ca.1650 in Southeast Asia after European designs (Hamburg, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe).
