As an aspect of the history of art history, examines the personal style of art historians, as well as shifts in approach, interpretation, and standards; concludes that objectivity in art history consists in agreement about standards of debate, that these are subject to radical changes, and that objectivity in interpretation is consistent with such radical changes.
