Selection of portraits commissioned for the front page of the art magazine. Catalogue introduction describes the foundation of the magazine and history of the portrait project. Catalogues the 122 portraits acquired by the Tate Gallery Archive, and the loan exhibits. Publishes a chronological list of portraits published, and lists authors (where known) of the original texts that accompanied each portrait.
