Abstract (en)
Following restorations carried out in 1982, analyzes individual marble elements in the Chigi Chapel (Rome, S. Maria del Popolo). Focuses on distinguishing the 17th c. work, much of it stylistically linked with Bernini and his studio, from that of the 16th c., on the basis of comparison with various other recently restored examples of inlaid decorative marble floor and wall incrustations in Rome.
