(en)
Examines the proliferation and circulation of drawings--views, and particularly, maps and plans--of fortifications in Italy in the 16th c. Focuses on two manuscripts in the Biblioteca Nazionale, Florence: MS II.I.280, containing 90 drawings, 62 of which are here identified as plans by G.B. Belluzzi for Cosimo I, 1547; and MS II.I.281, comprising 175 maps and plans by Matteo Neroni, 1602.
