Abstract (en)
Analyzes Ligorio's detailed investigation and interpretation of an existing Roman building, Le Mura di S. Stefano near Anguillara Sabazia, in notes and drawings preserved in MS Canon. ital. 138 of the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Shows that his plans, drawings and description are remarkably accurate, and supports his interpretation of the building as a villa.
