On the design of the Fortezza da Basso, Florence, and related drawings, by Antonio da Sangallo the younger; also discusses the symbolism of the octagon and argues that the ashlar of the keep alludes to the symbolism of the diamond and the pearl; and discusses the influence of astrology and Neo-Platonism on the building.
