Abstract
(en)
Presents corrections to the present arrangement of the interior of Pienza cathedral, the result of restorations by A. Barbacci (1930s). Reconstructs the original locations of the tabernacle (by the workshop of Bernardo Rossellino) and altarpieces commissioned by Pius II, along the side walls of the chapels (including the transept) with nothing against the windows. Also examines Pius's conception of the high altar, bare, with the host elevated against light from a clear window.
