On the relationship between Cassiano dal Pozzo and the Jesuit scholar and authority on gardening, G.B. Ferrari. Focuses on Cassiano's association with Ferrari's books, especially Hesperides (1646); discusses aspects of scientific and art historical interest, noting references to artists in the text and the involvement of artists such as Poussin and Pietro da Cortona in the illustration and funding of the book. Identifies Vincenzo Leonardi as the author of preparatory drawings of citrus fruit from Cassiano's Museo Cartaceo (Windsor, Royal Library).
