Abstract (en)

Describes the destruction of historic buildings in Fascist Rome, 1924-1942, in order to make way for new urban projects. Focuses on the demolition of buildings in the Borgo and the storage of architectural fragments from this area in the Bastione Ardeatino (or Bastione del Sangallo, a fortress built 1537-1542 by Antonio da Sangallo the younger). Reports on a new project for the creation of a documentation center in the Bastione.
