Abstract (en)

Summarizes the results of excavations of three Early Christian settlements in Yugoslavia and discusses the origin of a Balkan building type: the house with walls made of "boudrouk", a type of cob (mud mixed with straw) filling a wooden armature over a stone base. Concludes that the origin of this house type is Hellenistic and that it persists through the 17th c.
