Traces the history of the Casino del Chiatamone, Naples: built in the 17th c. as a royal palace, it became the residence of Michele Imperiale di Francavilla in the 18th c. and of Alexandre Dumas père in the 19th c., and was redecorated with Neoclassical interiors. Converted into a hotel in the late 19th c., it was allowed to deteriorate in the 20th c.
