Essays in scope discuss: Portuguese faience, 1600-1660; the first map of the Holy Land with Hebrew text and toponomy by Zaddiq, engraved by Abraham Goos, and published in Amsterdam in 1621; 17th c. Jewish religious articles; 17th c. Jewish book illustration and calligraphy; and the 17th c. tombstones in the Portuguese-Jewish cemetery Beth Haim at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
