Transcribes several letters from Elizabeth Siddal's brother James to W.M. Rossetti, 1899-1911, during which period the latter provided the former with significant financial assistance. Speculates about why Rossetti, the Pre-Raphaelite chronicler, did not avail himself of the opportunity to learn more about Lizzie and her background. Concludes it must come down to "an ingrained belief that the Siddalls [Siddals], uncultivated artisans and tradesmen as they undoubtedly were, even if they had produced a talented daughter, were unworthy of careful historical record."
