On the origins of 20 carved wooden chair gables, early 15th c. (Copenhagen, Nationalmuseet, since 1875), discovered in the parish church of Kirkjubøur. Discusses the iconography which includes Mary Virgin, the apostles and the image of a bishop. Notes the plans to return the chairs to the Faeroe Islands.
