Site excavated between 1985 and 1987. A large rectangular structure was found of post-Medieval date. Carved stone bearing arms of Henry Phankouth, archdeacon of Shetland, 1501-1529, was probably integral to the building which may have been a warehouse owned by Phankouth. Remains were noted of a small crofting settlement known locally as Handigarth but subsumed under the name Kebister in post-Medieval documents, and long deserted.
