Abstract (en)

Examines problems of attribution and dating of the 14th c. Bolognese frescoes from S. Apollonia di Mezzaratta, Bologna, in the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Bologna; focuses on the Joseph cycle on the south wall, attributed by Longhi to Cristoforo da Bologna despite the signature, "Jacobus". Identifies this artist as Cristoforo's father, Jacopo di Biondo, and assigns the cycle to father and son in collaboration.
