Examines the stylistic development of Nunzio Rossi [Russo] beginning with frescoes by him in Palazzo Davia, Bologna; and discusses the iconography of the Sacrifice of Isaac in relation to a fragment of a painting by him in a private collection, comparing other treatments of the subject in 16th and 17th c. Italian painting.
