Abstract (en)
Notes the importance of inventories in casting light on patronage and collecting, and cites examples. Gives a brief account of the history of the family and fortune of Donato Coppola and of the circumstances surrounding Andrea Coppola's inheritance of his entire estate. Includes a transcription of the inventory listing the property (including silver, jewels, and paintings) inherited by Andrea when he came of age in 1724. The section covering items to come to Andrea upon his mother's death mentions ca.600 paintings.
