Abstract (en)
Argues that the composition of the various paintings by Pieter Brueghel the younger entitled Peasants Fighting over Cards--as well as the tradition of the subject in Netherlandish painting--derives from a conception of Pieter Bruegel the elder and not, as proposed by Robert Genaille, from a drawing attributed to Rubens (Rotterdam, Boymans-van Beuningen Museum).
