Abstract (en)
Map of Whatborough in Leicestershire drawn up in 1586 (Oxford, All Souls College) which shows both pasture-land enclosed in 1495 and earlier furlongs of arable farming, being the earliest known map record of enclosure and the depopulation of a village. The remaining earthworks of the deserted village are still visible at the top of Whatborough Hill.
