Demonstrates that, by order of the Cutlers' Company Court 25 June 1606, all working cutlers in the City of London and its suburbs--members and foreigners alike--were required to strike the mark of the dagger on their products. This was to regularize and enforce a practice which had begun well back into the previous century.
