Discusses the dedicatory letter for Guarino Veronese's Latin translation, here dated to 1414, of Plutarch's Alexander & Caesar in MS Archivio di S. Pietro H 31 (Rome, Vatican Library). Argues that the preface, written in 1412, could have been intended for Carlo Malatesta of Rimini. Describes the manuscript and believes that its illuminations were done by a French artist, either in France or active in Italy.
