Looks at Hoefnagel's engravings for Georg Braun's Civitates orbis terrarum (Cologne, 1572-1617) and related topographical drawings, distinguishing between those done before 1576 when Hoefnagel was primarily a merchant, and those done after 1576 when he was a full time artist.
