Three books on architecture and literature. Schumacher on Giuseppe Terragni's 1938 project for a "temple" in Rome to honor Dante and Mussolini's Empire, functioning as a place for Dante study as well as a structural and autonomous equivalent of The Divine Comedy. Knapp on archetypal architecture in literature as the physical representation of the psychological and functional condition of an individual, culture, class and period.
