On the symbolism of Clement VIII's restructuring and decoration of S. Giovanni in Laterano, Rome (1597-1600). Concludes that it constitutes a purposeful manipulation associating Constantine, the unity of the Roman world, and the Temple of Concord (Tempio della Concordia, Rome) with the cathedral of Rome.
