Finds that the 184 illuminations of the Apocalypse signed and dated by Colins Chadewe in 1313 reveal a shift in the Gothic conception of the illustrated Apocalypse to a more intimately scaled, personalized devotional instrument of solitary meditation for aristocratic lay readers, in this case probably Isabella of France.
