Reviews an exhibition of contemporary furniture organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Twenty-six cabinetmakers--most born in the 1950s--were invited to concoct a piece of their own based upon one in the museum's permanent collection. Exhibition also shown at the Renwick Gallery, Washington, and the Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati.
