Discusses a 1988 exhibition entitled Home show, organized by the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, which featured site-specific art works created in rooms in 10 private homes. Also examines in depth the works of Annette Lemieux and Robert Gober, artists whose respective projects are likewise rooted in an American view of the world. Concludes that the works in the Home show deal with transforming art into life, while Gober and Lemieux are more interested in bringing the two together.
